June 11th - Ness City, KS to Great Bend, KS
Day 7 - June 11th, 2005
(6-11-05) We all went to Dave's room in the a.m. Gary got there first and showered – then Lindsay and I rolled up. I showered. Lindsay planned routes with Big Goot. We all ate a little something at the Derrick Inn (attached to the motel) and Lindsay left before us. The three stooges proceeded to the gas station / store for more H2O and Gatorade and what not.
(6-11-05 now) Well, we had a tailwind and were flying!
Gary slapped it into his high gear (higher than Goot and I) and took off! Trying to catch Lindsay no doubt. Well, he never did, she must have been going as fast as us – and she doesn't seem to need breaks, ah youth. We, however, normally take a 10 or 15 minute break every hour to hour and one-half , mainly to our asses and backs a little break. But, today, Gary kept going the full 62 miles to Great Bend, KS – he didn't stop once to get a pop to go. Lindsay must have continued beyond Great Bend or she's in a room or something, but we haven't seen her. We are camping now at Kiowa Campground RV Park (actually Jaguar Electric Company is were we camped – Dave P) – not too bad at all for $10.00 – running H2O and electricity for charging cell phones – plus, Bruce(?) the electricity guy stopped and gave us a hose for the water pump and free pop and bottled water – nothin' but good people so far (except for the bus).
So now Bo's cooking, I'm writing, and Goot is talking to Cupcake (Deb) on the cell phone.
