June 12th - Great Bend, KS to Lyons, KS
Day 8 - June 12th, 2005
Today can be defined with one simple shit word, and that word is RAIN. We managed to push through 30 miles of it before we arrived at our hotel stop. Rain hindered our intention to ride 65 miles. Tomorrow we are expecting 15 – 25 mph winds. This will make heading east a real charm – we shall see.
Perl had a flat today. This makes our 5th flat in seven days. I (Gary, Bo, whomever) am still without a single flat.
We are staying in Lyons, KS at the Lyons Inn (sounds like a XXX video store, but is actually a full fledged hotel).

P.S. I should mention the waitress this A.M. In Elinwood, KS, who came over to ask us if everything was okay, and all we had was coffee and H2O in front of us...
