Epilogue:
July 16th, 2005
What an adventure! The best so far!
I lost 20 or 25 pounds weighed 140 lbs when I returned – gained it back in five days – now 165 lbs or so. Daily swelling in my feet / ankles and lower legs since about July 5th, 2005 – however it seems to be lessening as time goes on. Rode 16 miles one night with Barb (Dave G's wife) – very slow – felt weird with no gear on the bike. Gary's been riding as usual – no ill affects reported by him except a slight numbness in one thigh – he's not concerned. Haven't spoken to Dave P., so I don't know how he feels. I may ride tomorrow eve – it's been awful hot and humid though, and I hate humidity, so who knows.
My rack broke in Springfield, Ohio, but I managed to fix it with zip ties, but I now need a new one. I got my $ worth out of the old one – an original rat trap rack by Schwinn – purchased shortly after the bike in '79. Saw one for $46.00 at Best Bike Shop (Mansfield, OH?) – looks good, heavy duty!
Hope to do down to the Cincinnati area and ride the Little Miami Trail this year – fall – cooler!
